This publication analyzes, quantifies, and monitors extreme weather events in Italy using the European Extreme Events Climate Index (E3CI). Based on data collected during 2023 and 2024, the report highlights the index’s value in revealing trends and impacts of extreme events across the country.
The document is produced and published by IFAB (International Foundation Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Human Development), with the support of the CMCC Foundation (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) and Leithà. The goal is to identify long-term trends to assess the impacts of these exceptional climate events on the economic systems of institutions and businesses.
