RADARMETEO AND HYPERMETEO RENEW PARTNERSHIP WITH METEORAGE FOR THE 2025–2028 PERIOD

The agreement provides for the distribution of lightning monitoring services in the Italian market.

Radarmeteo and Hypermeteo are renewing their commercial partnership with Meteorage for the 2025–2028 period. Meteorage operates the European network for lightning and thunderstorm detection. This partnership aims to further develop and expand the services within the Italian market.

The agreement with Meteorage — a subsidiary of Météo-France (the French national meteorological service) — represents a significant step toward the internationalization of services, markets, and partnerships. It enables the delivery of crucial operational support to industrial and insurance sectors that are particularly vulnerable to weather-related risks.

DID YOU KNOW?

With an average of 245 days per year experiencing thunderstorm activity, Italy is the most lightning-affected country in Western Europe.

The monitoring platforms and applications are designed for users operating in sectors heavily impacted by such phenomena — including energy, oil & gas, utilities, road management, transportation, airports, construction, land reclamation consortia, civil protection, and agriculture. These tools provide real-time detection of both cloud-to-ground and in-cloud lightning activity, significantly enhancing nowcasting capabilities for intense weather events associated with thunderstorms, while also improving safety for personnel working in exposed areas.

The renewed agreement also includes the distribution in the Italian market of Geoflash, a new solution specifically designed for field operators in weather-risk-prone sectors. It delivers timely alerts to mobile devices when lightning is detected nearby, enabling safe interruption and resumption of field activities.
